When she couldn't be outside Katie found herself glued to her sketchbook drawing so she could continue the fun. After high school she went to the city and received her BA in illustration from Columbia College Chicago. Spending a few years after graduation doing commissioned pet portraits, she and her husband decided to move to California where she began to focus on children's illustration as her career. Katie's love and passion for children's books is what drives her illustrations to be fun and colorful while creating a world that children can relate to.
